-Today South Florida Holdings announced that SnapJet will receive three
new airbus aircraft this year, and four aircraft next year. Currently
SnapJet has nine A319s (five are Ex-Fusion aircraft) with sixteen on
order and four A320s with six on order. They expect to receive two more
A319s and one A320 this year, along with three A320s and one A319 next
year. The next aircraft to be delivered is N205SJ, an A320. It will be
delivered to SnapJet from Toulouse France on May 25th. The other two
A319s are expected late summer or early fall this year.
In
other news SnapJet announced it will be serving Salt lake City and
Honolulu Hawaii on June 1, 2009. Salt lake City will have non-stop
daily service from both San Jose and Indianapolis while Honolulu will
be serviced from San Jose only.
Financially, SnapJet has had a
rough start due to the economy and other factors, they will be
restructuring there ticket prices and expenses in the coming months. It
is rumored they will pull service to JFK and replace it with Newark, or
stop service all together. "We have to get our ducks in a row now or we
will never get anywhere" said CFO Animesh Hajela when questioned
Thursday. We should all expect great things from SnapJet in the future.
Its a tough market right now and you just have to hope for the best.
